Cameron's big girl move

Cameron, who will be 4 in March, has been begging us to get her ears pierced since this summer! Each time she brings it up we are very honest with her and let her know it will hurt. Pinching her ears to give her a little taste of what the actual stab will feel like doesn't really bother her. Last week we were at the mall and we walked by Claire's. She stopped pushing her doll stroller (yes 3 kids = 3 strollers at the mall, anything to keep her occupied) to take a look at the ear piercing chair. Again reminding her of the pain, she was still in. After mom and dad thought about it again we said OK. Now we are 3rd in line for the chair ...perfect she will see the 6 month old and 2 year old freak out and we can then go home. Nope..we have a brave one on our hands. She didn't care one bit that those girls just screamed and cried after the guns were fired. You can watch the video to see what happened next.

Don't worry she is fine doing just fine now and actually very proud!!

Back on the road!!!

This week we started the New Year making up for lost time, you could say...

This week was filled with appointments, basketball games, meetings, and preschool. Normally the thought of getting 3 little kids ready to go outside in this Iowa weather is not fun and one might rather just stay at home...rewind back one month. For the Bergman's December was spent at home...not by our choice but because we had no choice. Thanksgiving weekend our van that we purchased 2 months prior broke down on us. Leaving us with nothing to drive (well I guess we did have a 2001 Lumina the dealership so kindly let us borrow on day 25...try that with 3 car seats!!). After 32 days without the Honda, we finally got a call saying it was fixed. And by fixed, I mean the new transmission is in and ready for us to drive!! You really never know what you have until you don't have it anymore!!! So any chance we have to leave the house, we take it :)

With all of our ups and downs (probably a few more downs this year) let's just say that leaving 2008 behind will not hurt our feelings! We were blessed with Parker and couldn't be more happy to have her in our lives. I think she is suppose to be teaching me my life lessons. She is such a happy baby! You would never be able to tell she has had any sort of health troubles. When I see her smiling and laughing I remind myself what she has gone through in her first 4 months of life. If she can get through all of her setbacks, then I certainly can get through my challenges and obstacles life gives to me.
